to burn the temples of my homeland and by edict enforce worship of the false
gods of the Visigoths caused a backlash amongst the Nordic peoples, whom in
their rage demanded the toppling of the regime to the Southeast and
independence from its tyrannical strangehold. Rather than face mutiny from
